1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
This award encourages graduate students working with insects or other arthropods in the broad areas of physiology, biochemistry, and molecular biology to affiliate with ESA's Physiology, Biochemistry and Toxicology Section and to attend the ESA Annual Meeting. All students using arthropods to study any aspect of basic or applied physiology, biochemistry, or molecular biology in the broadest sense for their Master's or Doctoral research are eligible to apply. Students from all science departments are encouraged to apply. The applicant does not have to present a paper in order to receive the award. A student may re-apply but preference will be given to a student who has not received the award previously. Nominators must provide the candidate's CV which includes the Background Information Section, Research Section, and Service. Two letters of endorsement from professional colleagues and clientele are required. A statement written by the student covering the topic or areas of research for project, methodology, reasons and enthusiasm for attending the meeting must also be submitted. Nominees or candidates will be judged based on their enthusiasm and interest in attending the meeting; their academic credentials; the topic or areas of thesis research; and recommendations from their colleagues, peer groups, etc. Please visit the award's website or contact the Entomological Society of America for more information.
