1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
Award holders will be expected to teach one regular course for undergraduate or graduate students per semester in the Department of British and American Studies or another academic unit at the Institute of Modern Languages and Literatures, Maria Curie-Sklodowska University (UMCS). The Distinguished Scholar will be encouraged to give talks at UMCS humanities and social sciences units. The candidate should hold a PhD in the humanities or social sciences. The award is intended for scholars with an excellent record of publications in their respective fields and significant teaching experience. There are no language proficiency requirements; English is sufficient. However, feasibility of conducting the project must be demonstrated in the project statement. All teaching will be in English. Additional language study would facilitate contacts with professionals at the host institution and would enable deeper engagement within the community and general well-being in the host country. We also recommend that candidates familiarize themselves with the culture of the host region. Therefore, prior language study is highly recommended. A letter of invitation should not be sought. Two letters of recommendation are also required. Please visit the award's website or contact the Council for International Exchange of Scholars for more information.
