The award holder will be expected to teach one regular course for undergraduate or graduate students in one of the humanities and social sciences academic units at the Faculty of English, Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU). The Distinguished Scholar will be expected to engage in research or scholarly activities at the faculty, e.g., give talks, run workshops, be available to meet with the researchers for consultation and mentoring. This award is intended for eminent scholars with an excellent record of publications in their respective fields, significant teaching experience, and experience mentoring PhD students. Candidates should hold a PhD in the humanities or social sciences. There are no language proficiency requirements; English is sufficient. All teaching will be in English. Additional language study would facilitate contacts with professionals at the host institution and would enable deeper engagement within the community and general well-being in the host country. We also recommend that candidates familiarize themselves with the culture of the host region. Therefore, prior language study is highly recommended. A letter of invitation should not be sought. Two letters of recommendation are also required. Please visit the award's website or contact the Council for International Exchange of Scholars for more information.
