1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Shaver-Hitchings Scholarship Fund was created in 1990 by Dr. George H. Hitchings and Dr. Joyce Shaver Hitchings to honor and reward individuals with a commitment to helping others in the area of drug and alcohol addiction. The scholarship is available to any graduate student, physician's assistant, or medical student in the Triangle area who has worked (preferably as a volunteer) to help others with alcoholism, drug abuse and addictive disorder treatment, or with preventive education on the subject of addiction. The fund is designed to recognize the recipient for his or her work or volunteer activity and to provide financial aid. This scholarship is restricted to graduate students, physician's assistants, or medical students. The school must be accredited by the appropriate regional Association for Colleges and Schools, and the applicant must enroll within one year of the application deadline.
