The Judith Lee Ridge Prize recognizes the best article in the field of history published in one of the two years preceding the prize year. The article must have been published in English in one of the two years preceding (2023 or 2024) the prize year. Articles must be submitted with full scholarly apparatus. Articles may only be submitted for consideration once, no resubmissions in subsequent years. Articles may only be submitted in a given year for consideration for a single award. Please do not submit a single article for multiple award categories. All fields of history will be considered. Applicants must submit one copy of the entry for each committee member. Applicants must have membership that is current through the award year (December 31, 2025) when they submit their application. If their membership expires prior to December 31, 2025, please renew prior to applying in order to avoid disqualification.
