The Buerkle Scholarship will be awarded to graduates, including GED recipients and home-schooled graduates, of Linn, Douglas and Umatilla county high schools. Preference will be given to older, nontraditional students or students who are returning to college after a long absence. Preference will also be given to students with a GPA of 3.50 or higher. Eligible majors are English, journalism, math, music, or physical education. Preference will also be given to students at Oregon colleges. Students may apply-compete annually.
