The Engineering Technology Scholarships is a one-year scholarship available to Engineering Technology students pursuing either a bachelor or an associate degree in a course of study that has traditionally been a preparatory curriculum for the HVAC&R profession. Qualified applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and/or a class standing of no less than the top 30 percent and meet at least one of the following criteria: (A) the institution has an active ASHRAE student branch on campus ASHRAE Student Branches; (B) the program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or the Partnership for Air Conditioning, Heating, & Refrigeration Accreditation (PAHRA); (C) or an agency outside the USA that is a signatory of The Sydney Accord. Three signed letters of recommendation are required: one from an instructor or faculty advisor, one from a current or past employer, and one from another character reference (other than a family member). In the case of institutions with an ASHRAE student branch, a letter from the faculty advisor of that branch may be one of the letters of recommendation. Re-applications are accepted from former scholarship applicants and recipients who meet current criteria. For more information about eligible schools and accredited programs recognized by ASHRAE, please visit the sponsor's website or contact ASHRAE.
