The Barbara Beckmann Textile Design Scholarship is open to currently enrolled post-secondary students majoring in Design with a focus on Textile Design. All applicants must have completed four design courses in post-secondary education at the time of application and be majoring in Textile Design or a related field. The recipient of this scholarship must be enrolled for the fall semester following the application deadline. Applicants must submit three of their textile design examples, including inspiration, process and material details, descriptions, dimensions and both in-process and final drawings. Computer generated and/or hand work may be included. The final drawings are to be in color. Two additional design examples that show the use or application of the original textile designs must also be submitted; these design examples should also include inspiration, process, descriptions and final drawings. Final textile images are encouraged for all examples, and we ask, again, that you provide color images for all final design drawings. Applicants must also submit a letter of recommendation from an instructor or professor. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the IFDA Educational Foundation for more information.
