1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Frank and Virginia Winker Memorial Scholarship for Graduate Study in Acoustics has been established to support graduate study in the fields of architectural acoustics noise control, or engineering acoustics. Applicants must be enrolled in any college or university in the United States and who must be pursuing research toward a graduate thesis project in Architectural Acoustics, Noise Control, or Engineering Acoustics. Engineering Acoustics, for the purposes of the Winker Scholarship, includes applications of linear and nonlinear acoustics, transduction and transducers, acoustical measurements, instrumentation, and applications of signal processing to any of the aforementioned areas. Membership in ASA is not required. Three reference letters shall be provided from persons familiar with the student's work. One letter shall be from the student's graduate advisor or major professor. At least one of the other two letters shall be from an associate or full member of the Acoustical Society of America.
