The AMS History of Healthcare Project Grant is designed to support small budget proposals on projects in the history of healthcare and allied disciplines, including (but not limited to) science and technology studies, human resources and the healthcare workforce, sociology, anthropology, and classics. Projects that consider the Canadian context are particularly welcome and may include requests for seed money to develop research initiatives. Proposals are expected to advance the history of health, healthcare or disease or the education of health professionals that could benefit the broader community of practitioners in the field. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (A) be employed as a health professional in Canada by a healthcare organization, health authority, provincial, or national government; (B) be a researcher with an academic appointment at a Canadian university or affiliated research institution or hold an appointment (with research responsibilities) at an affiliated hospital, research centre, or institute; or (C) be employed by a health professions organization, eg., CMA, CNA, MCC, or a health professions regulatory body located in Canada. Applications to the grant must include the CVs of all PIs and co-PIs; the proposal, including objectives, project description, and a work plan; and a letter of support from the host institution and letters of collaboration from all co-PIs.
