The AMS Postdoctoral Fellowship provides support to promising researchers at a pivotal time in their careers. Candidates should be embarking on a period of full-time post-PhD degree studies and wish to add to their experience by engaging in research in Canada or abroad. The fellowships are intended for emerging scholars to complete work already started on projects featuring the study, analysis, and interpretation of past practices, philosophies, and/or epistemologies related to human health, health care, and/or disease or the education of health professionals, or to begin a new project in the field. Applicants must be able to commit at least 75 percent of their time in the research fellowship role proposed; and have confirmed a primary supervisor located at the university where the applicant will be based during the fellowship. At the time of application, the applicants must hold a PhD or expect to complete all requirements of the degree by the end of December of the application year. Special eligibility considerations will be given to a prospective applicant who has experienced a serious interruption or delay in pursuing their career since completion of the PhD that would make them ineligible for this fellowship. Up to three reference letters, one of which must be from the applicant's supervisor, are also required. Please visit the fellowship's website for more information.
