1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Bud and Linda Tarrson Fellowship will be awarded to periodontists pursuing academic careers. The award is not intended to replace support that would normally have been provided by the recipient's institution. This fellowship may be awarded for three years. Candidates for the Fellowship must be either a full-time faculty member at the instructor or assistant level or a part-time faculty member. The candidate must be affiliated for 10 years or less with a degree-granting institution, and their career goal must be teaching and research in periodontology. Applications will be accepted only from candidates at U.S. institutions. The Selection Committee is appointed by the AAP Foundation President. The selection is based on the quality of the individual and his or her work in the academic field, not financial need. The top three candidates will be chosen and must attend the AAP Annual Meeting, where they will be interviewed by the selection committee. Please visit the award's website or contact the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation for more information.
