1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Cummins First Generation Women of Color Scholarship will be given to students who major in CprE, CprET, CS,CI, EE, ET, IE, IET, InfoSys/IT, MfgE, MfgET, ME, MET, and Security. Preference will be given to candidates from under-represented groups and candidates demonstrating financial need. The student's intended school must be HBCU (Historically Black Colleges & Institutions) or HSI (Hispanic Serving Institutions). Non-freshman students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and freshman students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5. Applicants do not have to be a member of SWE to be eligible for SWE scholarships. Those who identify as a woman and pursue an ABET-accredited bachelor or graduate student program may apply for this scholarship. Students who attend an ABET-accredited community college program full-time are also eligible. A personal reference and STEM reference are required. The personal reference must be a person who has known the applicant for two or more years and who is not a relative or member of the applicant's family. For the STEM reference, it is highly recommended that the reference be someone in a STEM field who is familiar with the applicant's academic work. The references must submit the recommendation letters by the deadline stated. The application for upperclass students (rising sophomore, junior, senior undergraduates and all graduate students) is from December 2, 2024 to January 31, 2025. The application for incoming freshmen students is from February 10, 2025 to March 31, 2025. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Society of Women Engineers for more information.
