1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Le Mars Daily Sentinel funds the annual Carter Pitts Scholarship. The scholarship is named for the Daily Sentinel's longtime publisher or owner. The late Carter Pitts was also the first president of the Iowa Newspaper Foundation and the organization's first professional fundraiser. Applicants must be students preparing for careers in the newspaper industry. You may see your high school guidance counselor for more information. Applicants are required to submit two references and a personal statement. One reference must be from a teacher and one from a counselor. Two work samples must also be submitted.
