1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Nancy Lorraine Jensen Memorial Scholarship provides partial to full tuition support, ranging from 50 percent of one term to 100 percent of one academic year, for female U.S. citizens aged 17 to 35 pursuing undergraduate study in chemistry, physics, or engineering (chemical, electrical, or mechanical). Applicants must have completed at least one term of college credit and meet standardized test benchmarks (minimum SAT score of 1200 with 600 in math, or ACT score of 26). Eligibility is limited to current members of Sons of Norway or daughters/granddaughters of members with at least three years of active membership prior to application. Selection is based on academic potential, financial need, and a personal essay addressing career goals, community involvement, alignment with the Foundation's core values, and connection to Nordic heritage. Required materials include transcripts, two letters of recommendation, a short autobiography, and verification of tuition costs. The award is granted for one year and does not cover room, board, or travel expenses from prior academic terms.
