1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Mathematics Graduate Course Work Scholarship for Grades Pre-K-5 Teachers provides financial support for improving teachers' understanding of mathematics by completing graduate coursework in mathematics or mathematics education. Applicants must be currently teaching at grades PK-5 level; and must have taught school mathematics for at least three years and intend to remain in teaching. Past recipients of this grant are not eligible to reapply. The applicant must be a current (on the day of the application) Essential or Premium member of NCTM. For the proposal, primary emphasis must be placed on appropriate mathematics content courses. Mathematics education courses also qualify if the applicant provides a suitable rationale. The proposal must address the rationale for the coursework, anticipated instructional improvements, and expected impact on student learning outcomes. A letter of support from the principal at the applicant's school must be submitted. It must confirm the teaching status of the applicant and indicate strong support for the proposal and the applicant's ability to accomplish it. Please visit the award's website for more information.
