1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Walter J. Clore Scholarship was established in 1997 by the Washington Winegrowers Association in honor of Dr. Clore's grape research and lifetime achievements in the fields of viticulture and enology. The scholarship is awarded each year to students studying viticulture, enology, and other wine-related studies. Students not yet enrolled in college may apply but preference will be given to undergraduate students. Students in a Certificate Program are also preferred but students pursuing an Associate's and Bachelor's degrees may also apply. Preference will also be given to students who demonstrate participation in extracurricular activities related to their field of study and have work or volunteer experience in their field of study. Two letters of recommendation are required. The letters should provide the Scholarship Committee with insight into the applicant's character, values, and unique attributes. If applicable, please provide a letter of acceptance into a wine or grape industry related degree program from the department director and a letter from the applicant's parent's employer.
