1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Alabama Funeral Directions Association is committed to excellence in funeral service education. Scholarships will be awarded to qualified students whose plans are to complete their education in an accredited mortuary science school and service the public in their chosen profession in the State of Alabama. The applicant must have been accepted by an accredited mortuary science school. The applicant must be a legal resident of the State of Alabama. They must submit two proofs of residency, such as a voter registration, driver's license, tax returns, etc. Applicants must be sponsored by a member of the AFDA. If the applicant is employed by a member of the AFDA, the employer must submit a letter, on company letterhead, to the Scholarship Committee stating why the applicant is being recommended for the scholarship award and their overall opinion of the applicant's future in funeral service. Applicants must also obtain two other letters of recommendation from someone in their community other than family. If an applicant is not employed by a funeral director, three letters of recommendation must be submitted, one of which must be from an AFDA member funeral firm.
