1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The IAGLR Scholarship is awarded annually to promising Ph.D. students who are IAGLR members and whose research is likely to make a significant contribution to the understanding of large lakes. Funded by IAGLR, the scholarships are intended to promote academic excellence by encouraging young scientists to undertake graduate research in Great Lakes ecosystem health and to enter the field of Great Lakes science. Applicants must provide the research information, which includes a brief title and extended abstract of the dissertation research, including a statement of why the research will make a significant contribution to understanding large lakes. A letter of endorsement from a supervising professor is also required. The letter should indicate the following: name, address, e-mail, and telephone number of the major professor; a statement of the student's stage of progress, and anticipated time to completion of degree; and the student's academic ability, aptitude and eligibility.
