1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The R&E Foundation Research Scholar Grant supports junior faculty members who have completed resident and fellowship programs, but haven't been recognized as independent investigators. The funding not only helps establish recipients as investigators, but also supports them as they collect preliminary data that could lead to other funding in the future. Any area of research in the radiologic sciences is eligible for funding. Any area of research related to the radiologic sciences, from hypothesis-driven basic science and clinical investigations to topics such as drug, device, and therapy development; comparative effectiveness, evidence-based radiology, ethics and professionalism, quality improvement, clinical practice efficiency, and imaging informatics. Applications should describe the unique nature of the research effort independent of existing research efforts and should have well-defined goals for the funding period of the grant. Greater emphasis on the independent nature of the research will be stressed compared to resident/fellowship research efforts. Projects focused on advancing imaging science, developing or evaluating medical imaging technology, or making innovative use of imaging science to answer important biologic or clinical questions are encouraged. Any junior radiology faculty member may apply for the Research Scholar Grant, as long as they are an RSNA member. Applicants must hold a full-time faculty position in a department of radiology, radiation oncology or nuclear medicine within a North American educational institution. They must have been hired within the last 8 years with an academic rank of instructor, assistant professor or an equivalent title. They must have completed advanced training and be certified by either the American Board of Radiology (ABR), The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or are on track for certification.
