The Jorge Mas Canosa Freedom Foundation celebrates Cuban heritage and academic excellence by awarding the Mas Family Scholarship Award. Our scholarship program aims to recognize and reward outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential, and a commitment to community service. We invite all eligible candidates to apply for this prestigious opportunity to receive financial assistance in achieving their higher education goals. Students are eligible to apply if they were born in Cuba or are of direct Cuban descent. A proof of Cuban descent is required. Examples include Birth Certificate, Parent or Grandparent Birth Certificate, Citizenship Certificate, or other valid identification. Aside from an essay, a personal statement outlining the student's academic achievements, leadership experiences, and community involvement must also be submitted. Students must also explain how receiving the Mas Family Scholarship will enable them to further their educational and professional aspirations. In early spring, finalists will be interviewed.
