The Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library Dissertation Fellowship is open to doctoral candidates conducting research or writing a dissertation. They will receive four to eight-month fellowships. Students completing an external Ph.D. (defined as those who conduct research independently and are not employed by a university) are not eligible for dissertation awards but may apply in the short-term fellowship category. Applicants must provide a two-page bibliography of primary sources they plan to use or consult at Winterthur. Applicants must also request two recent letters of reference addressing their scholarly record, their current project, and their ability to work with a collegial group. For Dissertation Fellowship applicants, one of these letters must come from their dissertation advisor. The complete fellowship requirements are available on the website. Please visit the fellowship's website or contact the Academic Programs at Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library for more information.
