1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Albert M. Lappin Scholarship will be awarded to assist, financially, in the education of needy and worthy children of American Legion Members and/or such children of American Legion Auxiliary members of the Department of Kansas. Only high school seniors and college level freshmen or sophomores who are enrolled or intend to enroll in an approved college or institution will be considered. Applicants must be the son or daughter of a veteran; the parent(s) must have been a member of The Kansas American Legion and/or Kansas American Legion Auxiliary for the past three consecutive years. Applicants may also be the son or daughter of a deceased member whose membership was paid up in The American Legion and/or Auxiliary in the year of death. Three letters of recommendation are required, only one must be from a teacher. Applications must be received in the American Legion Department of Kansas headquarters.
