1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Louise A. Nixon Scholarship Fund was established to help each recipient reach Nixon's goals of dedication and vision. This scholarship supports students who pursue graduate-level library education. Applicants must be accepted to either (a) an ALA-accredited graduate school of library/information science, or (b) a school library/library media graduate program/endorsement accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) that also meets ALA/AASL curriculum guidelines. Applicants must also be (a) a resident of Nebraska or an employee of a Nebraska library for at least one year, and (b) a member of NLA or NSLA at the time of application. Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate the best potential for employment in Nebraska libraries after graduation. Previous recipients of the Louise A. Nixon Scholarship are not eligible to reapply. One letter of recommendation, less than a year old, is required. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
