1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Anna and John Kolesar Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence as calculated from the final standings received in three eligible subjects as recorded on an official Alberta Transcript of High School Achievement. The subjects include: One of: English 30, English 30-1, 30-2 or Francais 30-1, 30-2; and any two of the following: Pure Mathematics 30, Applied Mathematics 30, Mathematics 31, Science 30, Mathematics 30-1, or 30-2, Biology 30, Chemistry 30, Physics 30, Social Studies 30, 30-1 or 30-2, or a language at the Grade 12 level other than the one previously mentioned. Applicants must be graduating from an Alberta high school in the current academic year and be from a family where neither parent obtained a university degree. Applicants must also be enrolled in a program of study in an Alberta publicly funded post-secondary institution in a Faculty of Education. Applicants must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Canada, or Protected Person under Canada's Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Visa students are not eligible.
